Qualcomm introduced this week its new technology that allows Internet connection without personal computers. They call it the “Kayak PC alternative”, a system which allows televisions or monitor screens to connect to the internet through 3G wireless network . It was developed for poorer countries where 3G networks are becoming increasingly easier to establish. This technology was formed out of a combination of Qualcomm modems and chips into a portable device that does not need telephone or cable connections to the Internet.

The long-awaited release of Sony Ericsson ’s first Window Mobile smartphone is being featured in the O2 website. X1 is the latest deal from Sony Ericsson which is being watched upon for bargaining since the start of February. Since then, the unveiling of the X1 caught rumors of being released on September 30. Indeed, this date has passed on and the idea of it was disregarded since the O2 website confirmed the X1 date release to be November 2008.

Getting into the touchscreen smartphone market, Research in Motion Ltd., makers of Blackberry phones, would not be left behind. Blackberry Storm, the newest line of smartphone from the said manufacturer, is set to rival Apple's iPhone and other top smarthphones in the market today. Blackberry Storm would be distributed by V erizon Wireless in the United States and Vodafone would exclusively distribute the phone in parts of Europe, Australia, India and New Zealand.

You bet hat the world biggest cell phone manufacturer would not be left behind with the current trend in smartphones- Touchscreen. Although it may seem that Nokia took their time in joining the bandwagon of touchscreen phone manufacturers, they really seemed to devote a lot of time and study in creating their very first touchscreen smartphone. And finally, here it is- the Nokia 5800 is soon to hit the market.
